We listen
You tell us what's going on. The house is too much, the stairs are a worry, the kids live far away, or you simply want something easier. We ask a few questions and never rush you.

How it works
Some people call us a year before they plan to move. Some call the week after a fall. Either is fine. Here's what happens.
You tell us what's going on. The house is too much, the stairs are a worry, the kids live far away, or you simply want something easier. We ask a few questions and never rush you.
In plain English: what's near you, what it costs, what Medicare does and doesn't cover, and whether veterans benefits or the sale of the house could help pay for it.
A community to tour, a move manager to pack and settle you in, an agent who sells homes like yours. Checked by us. You choose which ones to call back, if any.

"I noticed the mail piling up. Then the fridge. I didn't know who to call, and I didn't want to go behind her back."
More than half the people who call us are adult children. Usually they've noticed something, usually they live a drive or a flight away, and usually they're not sure whether it's their place to bring it up. It is. And you don't need to have the whole plan worked out before you call. We can help you figure out what to say, what the options are where your parent lives, and how to make the first conversation go well.
Nothing happens without your parent's say-so. We'll never contact them unless you ask us to.
Read the guide for familiesThe VA's Aid and Attendance pension can add well over a thousand dollars a month toward assisted living or care at home for wartime veterans and their surviving spouses who meet the service, need, and financial rules. Most eligible families have never heard of it. We'll tell you honestly whether it's worth applying, and point you to an accredited claims agent who won't charge you to file.
Help near you
Type your city or state. Each page covers the communities, costs, and programs in that area.
We don't have a page for that yet. Call us and we'll help anyway, or see every state.
Common questions
Yes. We're paid by the senior living communities, move managers, real estate agents, and care agencies in our network when they take on a new family. You never pay us, and the price you're quoted by any partner is the same price you'd get walking in off the street. Many of our partners actually offer a better deal to families we send them.
Not from us. The person you talk to isn't on commission and doesn't work for any community. If a partner you're connected with ever pressures you, tell us and we'll remove them from our list.
Please do. Most of the families who end up happiest started the conversation a year or two before they needed to. Knowing your options, what they cost, and what paperwork to have in place makes the eventual decision calm instead of rushed. There's no obligation to do anything after we talk.
Less than most people expect. Medicare does not pay for independent living, assisted living, or long-term custodial care. It covers short rehab stays after a hospitalization and some home health care. Medicaid, veterans benefits, long-term care insurance, and the proceeds from a home sale are what most families actually use. We'll explain which apply to you.
You're not alone; this is the most common call we get from adult children. We'll talk through how to raise it in a way that respects their independence, what to say and what to avoid, and what you can quietly prepare in the meantime. We won't contact your parent unless you ask us to.
Every partner must be licensed by its state, carry insurance, and clear our review of inspection reports and complaint history. We visit the ones we can. If a community has a pattern of problems in state records, it's not on our list, no matter what it would pay us.
One call, no obligation, and you'll know a lot more than you do now about what's possible. That alone makes the next decision easier.
